New England Property Management and Services Company (Nepmar Co) is well established Home Improvements Contractor in Southern Maine. Ultimately, we are a “do-it all” enterprise and take pride in our strong work ethic, quality in workmanship, and efficiency.


Due to exponential growth of work orders, we are currently hiring 15 to 20 experienced ( 10+ years) Residential/Commercial, Class 1 Painters for coming spring-to-fall working season.

This, temporary/ seasonal, position starts on May 1, 2014 through October 30, 2014.

Our customer base spreads over 3 counties ( York, Cumberland and Androscoggin) of Southern Maine. Therefore, applicants shall be comfortable with necessity to travel to/from the work sites utilizing their own vehicles on daily basis. COMPANY may provide transportation from office location to work sites and back, but seats are limited.


Our peak -of-the-season working shifts and hours are 5 to 6 days a week with 40-45 working hours per week ( up to 5 hours of overtime a week)

THE RIGHT CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

A willing, co-operative attitude with professional customer service skills

At least 10 years' experience -- must include spraying!

Your own set of basic painting tools

Your own transportation, a driver's license

Proof of citizenship or the right to work in the U.S.

Most recent ( 6 month) Medical Certificate to work on construction sites

Availability to work overtime, weekends and nights, when necessary

Ability to work on extension ladders up to 60' high

Experience with stain, varnish, epoxy coatings, elastomeric coatings, and dryfall is a plus


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


1. Operate and use required tools and equipment skillfully and safely. 2. Mix and match paints and varnishes. 3. Apply finishes to a wide variety of surfaces. 4. Estimate time and materials required on a widely varied assignments. 5. Perform heavy physical labor. 6. Coordinate work flow for multiple projects. 7. Train and direct the work of other classified staff in the area. 8. Follow and give oral and written instructions. 9. Maintain cooperative working relationships. 10. Demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for a diverse population. 11. Prepares, primes, sands, seals, patches and paints furniture, surfaces, buildings, and fixtures utilizing all types of painting materials such as varnish, lacquer, shellac, enamel, latex, epoxy, water-proofing and heat resistant finishes. 12. Tapes, flushes, repairs and applies texturing, wallpaper, and acoustic layers on a variety of surfaces. Adjusts colors when necessary, utilizes enhanced finishing skills when appropriate. 13. Applies materials to new construction, existing, multi-story buildings, alterations and remodelings. 14. Graffiti response and removal using a variety of available products and soda blasting. 15. Operates, cleans and maintains all painting equipment, including brush, roll, sprayers and electrostatic sprayers, pumps, etc. Safely stores and labels all materials. 16. Maintains and repairs soda blasting compressor and accessories. 17. Estimates time and materials required, keeps computerized records and submits reports of work performed. 18. Erects scaffolding, rigging and ladders as necessary in a manner consistent with safety codes. 19. Reads, comprehends and works from blueprints. 20. Offers assistance and advice on materials, designs, and color. 21. Assists in the writing of specifications for repairs and new construction. 22. Maintains appropriate service and repair records. 23. Researches, purchases and inventories equipment parts, chemicals and supplies. 24. Responds to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service. 25. Assists and serves as back up to other company's employees.

Special Requirements Must have knowledge of: commercial/ industrial practices and processes of the painting trade; paints, varnishes, lacquers, enamels, epoxies, paint removers, and related materials, and of their properties and application; applicable code requirements; methods and practices followed in the maintenance of tools, machinery, and equipment; occupational hazards of the painting trade and precautionary measures to be observed.


Preferable Qualifications:

- Trade School diploma or certification in painting/ maintenance.

- Lead Paint RRP Rules and OSHA ( or equal) certification, or ability to be trained on work site
